The result of a decade-long effort by the studio to fashion an animated feature from Andersen’s classic “The Snow Queen,” “Frozen” ultimately bears only the most superficial resemblance to its source, the haunting story of a young girl’s efforts to free her true love from the mind-altering effects of a cursed mirror and the icy lair of the eponymous snow spirit. Frozen is the coolest comedy-adventure ever to strike the big computer display. When a prophecy tricks a kingdom in eternal winter, Anna, a fearless optimist, groups up with farthest hill man Kristoff and his sidekick reindeer Sven on an epic journey to find Anna’s sister Elsa, the snowfall ruler, and put an end to her icy spell. Encountering mystical trolls, a comical snowman named Olaf, Everest-like xtremes and illusion at every turn, Anna and Kristoff assault the elements in a race to save.

It was good to see a video that embraced a young woman battling for her relationship with her sister.
